Zip lines or Ziplines in Cancun

Post by Cancun Manny » Tue Oct 29, 2013 8:04 pm

This seems to be a popular search on google, and an activity many folks are looking for. Oddly enough, there aren't any zip line parks in Cancun itself, but there are different options near by.

One of the most popular ones is Selvatica, and it is the closest one to Cancun. It is actually in Puerto Morelos, on what is called "La ruta de los cenotes" (the cenotes route). It is about 45 minutes away from Cancun's hotel zone (varies depending on which resort you are staying at).

There is another zip line park, on the outskirts of Cancun, before you get to Puerto Morelos. This park has changed names a couple of times, and last time I checked it was exclusive for those staying at the Palace Resorts.

Then there is Xplor the one that offers the tallest zip lines in the area. The park offers much more than just zip lines. Xplor is about 1 hour away from Cancun's hotel zone.

Little bit further away there is Hidden Worlds. It is located between Akumal and Tulum, about 1.5 hours from Cancun's Hotel zone. This is one of my favorite parks. They don't have a long zip line circuit like Selvatica and Xplor, but instead they used ingenuity to play with their ziplines.

If something small, more off the beaten path, away from large crowds and the "touristy" vibe is more your thing, then Tankah Park might be a place for you to consider. They are located by Tulum, just under 2 hours away from Cancun's hotel zone.

There are a handful of other small zip line parks but those are generally not open to the general public.

I plan to have a write up on each of the zip line parks I mentioned on the "things to do section" of my forum, so make sure to take a look
I do put a lot of time and effort to provide much detailed information to help you have a great time while in Cancun. If you feel I provided you with valuable useful information and want to reward me, why not buy me a beer? Cancun Manny
